This team was one of the College's most successful, winning the Norfolk Youth cup and then progressing as far as about the quarter final of the national competition. I recall that the final of the Norfolk Youth cup (against Dereham I think) was our worst ever performance, but 1-0 down in the final minute, Mike Peters produced a ridiculously spectacular overhead bicycle kick from 20 yards into the top corner to take the game into extra time, which we won easily. Last I heard, Glenn Jones was a navigator in the RAF, flying Tornadoes, and Jerry was a teacher. Fond memories!

Mike Lynn

As Mike Lynn remembers, we were an excellent side & the first ones allowed to enter the Norfolk Under 19 cup in the Autumn term which was normally exclusively a rugby playing term. Having blitzed our way through to the final we then played very badly & would have deservedly lost, had Mike Peters not scored that amazing goal in the dying seconds. I'm not certain who scored the winner in extra time but it may well have been Glenn Jones.  We did make it to the quarter finals of the National competition before we lost to Luton sixth form college at home in front of several hundred people but I think that was our only defeat of the season & we pretty much won every game we played & a couple of end of season 5 a side competitions as well.
