Girls vs. Boys (circa 1964)

Participation of boys in hockey games was rare. Anyone know the background as to why this game was played?. The two competitors in front are unknown but the girl behind in the white top is Joy Reynolds.

Anyone know of any other games? There was at least one played around '73 or '74 involving the girls and boys of the sixth form in New Hall. (I know 'cos I scored two goals - Steve (Sub-Ed)). Anyone have any photos of that game?
