"Two days of fantastic weather meant
record numbers of visitors to the Show, although we may have had a few less
visitors to our own stand than in previous years. The stand was kindly
manned by Steve Read, Phil Robinson, Carole Arnold, Colin Leaford, Philip
Wade, Alan Bridges and Bob Rowell, whose support was much appreciated. It
was a good opportunity to raise our profile locally, plus we sold
a couple of reunion tickets and 4 books!" - Joanne Allen |

Norfolk Show 2010
At the Woodfordes beer tent this year, Phil Robinson bumped into Guy Pettit, Lynne Pettit (Semmens) and Simon Marfleet. Not quite a mini reunion - just an hour for a couple of beers. Guy and Lynne hadn't met up with Simon for 37 years! |

Once again an intrepid band of OW volunteers manned the Old Wymondhamian's stand within the Wymondham College marquee at the Royal Norfolk Show.
During the two days over sixty OW's came to see us for a chat and to enjoy the strawberries kindly provided by the College.
The weather was very kind and we all enjoyed the opportunity to meet old and new friends.
A most re-assuring tale was heard at the show from a 1951 Pioneer Spring entrant. It was a tale relating to Chattaway the outrageous English master, he of the flowing gown who in a trail of nicotine would sweep all before him down the covered ways of Wymondham. It was reported that his first English lesson called for our pioneers to write the words Wymondham College on a plain sheet of paper. A few spelled it correctly, the rest incorporated a “d” after the “g”. On such stuff was our great College founded!

Several members of the OW Committee attended the Royal Norfolk Show on 26th and 27th June as part of the College stand and over 70 past pupils and staff visited us and signed the visitors book, among them several people who weren't aware of us who were sent home with lots of information!
