Long jump by Adrian 'Twinks' Smith - 1961

Adrian 'Twinks' Smith on the long jump. It had been suggested that this may be the triple jump, but this side of the two jump pits (nearest to the road) was for the long jump.

The photo was taken at the 'new' jumping area on the opposite side of the Morley Hall drive to the cricket pavilion. All the pits were originally next to the old gym and (subject to confirmation) it's believed that the long/triple jumps moved first in 1961, followed by the high jump and pole-vault a year later.

A further area was added at the bottom of the jungle pitches in the early 70's. There was also a shot putt circle by the trees in the distance.
