The new building, attached to the old on one corner, has been christened “Ralphs” making the 6th form house the first to achieve a double-barrelled name – “Lincoln Ralphs”.  Lower 6th (Year 12s) are mostly housed in the old Lincoln building which, apart from a redecoration and some new furniture and the infilling of the two flat roofs, remains the same as when it was first built (50 years ago this year).  The new building is very plush and all the study bedrooms are en-suite, housing mostly Upper 6th (Year 13s).

Downstairs there is an extended refectory/canteen area and, adjoining this, a contemporary styled “bistro” area with comfy modern seating and a baguette/Panini/salad bar to reduce pressure on the canteen.  There is also a new ICT suite downstairs with 40 computers, a ‘snug’ with big screen TV, sofas and beanbags, a music room, and a reading room, as well as several smaller common rooms dotted around the place, and a very impressive semicircular “plaza” surrounded on all sides by the new and old building.  As you can see from the pictures, it’s quite an impressive building and has attracted a fair number of visitors and publicity for the school.
