The Pond (1960)

A winter view of the pond taken around 1960, but the view hardly changed over a period of several years. The hut beyond was the admin hut but, more importantly, the two windows to the left of the door were the tuck shop - the 'counter' was the middle window of the three. It is also possible to make out the covered way to the left, with hut 26 behind. This photo was taken from Lincoln Hall.

Note the group of girls heading towards Peel (edge just visible), which was occupied by their North & South Houses until the end of 1961 when Cavell was completed.
