The old library - date?

The 6th Form library is at the far end - favourite spot for free periods.  Note the portrait of Muz (R.V. Metcalfe) - can anyone remember what the other pictures were?  In the leftmost bookshelves between the end doors was an early 1900s Encyclopaedia Britannica, with well-thumbed pages in the 'Explosives' section which had laboratory preparation instructions in great detail.
