The Water Tower
The water tower is one of the few, but very obvious, original buildings left on the site. Modern times have caught up with it though as it is now the platform for some cellphone base-station antennas. The lean-to attachments around the base are used either as garages for some of the resident staff member's cars or as storage space for the new Refectory, just out of view on the left, that is currently used by the lower school for all meals.
Although I never noticed it at the time, it was built using at least two completely different coloured bricks. This was probably not a designed-in featured but a product of the availability of building material in wartime Britain.
