"I taught English from 1974 to 1980 at Wymondham College and still keep in touch with many of the people I taught. Most of these photographs show that everyone did have some great times there. I’ve really enjoyed going through the website and hope these add a few memories for more people."

We suggested that Sue's arrival must've been rather more than a breath of fresh air, given the harsh skirt-length regime of a few years previously. She said: "When I started at Wymondham there were 30 new members of staff, so there were several breaths of fresh air whooshing round at once! Skirt lengths were no longer the issue they had been when I was at school (easily got round - you just rolled your waistband round as many times as necessary to raise hems to the desired length, then lowered them for the kneeling on the floor hem check ritual). Hem lengths were around the knee or lower, but tie lengths were an issue as seen in some of the early photos I took. The aim was to make ties as short and fat as possible. Mrs MacBeath was at the school while I was there and several times confused me with students. Amongst my early memories as a new 22 year old teacher was the Saturday morning when I was tied up at the end of the lesson by my 5th years with about 10 scarves and left there blindfolded and helpless until Course 46 turned up for their lesson and rescued me!"
